More people than ever are relying to the food deliveries. The coronavirus and quarantine measures enacted by governments worldwide have spurred record demand for delivery.

With lockdowns imposed by governments across major cities worldwide and people maintaining social distancing, getting necessary food has become a titanic task. More people than ever are relying to the food deliveries. The coronavirus and quarantine measures enacted by governments worldwide have spurred record demand for delivery.

Initially the delivery platforms have suffered the closure of many restaurants. Ser- vices like Uber Eats, Deliver, Just Eat depend on existing restaurants to deliver meals. But the Coronavirus crisis has forced restaurants to open for take out only.

Competition among riders has rapidly increased due to the rising unemployment rate. However during the #stayathome campaign riders became an essential service with very few social and labour protection, working with serious health risks.

In Italy there are some 10.000 riders, before the lockdown nine out of ten of them were foreigners, but with the loss of jobs the number of Italian riders is increasing rapidly.
