My India/Megalopolis

The project My India/Megalopolis stems from a personal exploration of some of India's major megalopolises and large cities: New Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh are among the primary urban centers I have been visiting every year since 2007. In these cities, I wanted to discover that sense of amazement that strikes the Western traveler when contemplating the rapid expansion of the subcontinent's cities. From one year to the next, forests and cultivated fields have given way to commercial buildings and residential complexes.

Along with the expansion of city boundaries, my lens recorded the lives of those who inhabit these cities. Social and generational stratifications of the second most populous country in the world, with an average age of 29, and where economic inequalities are profound and growing.
