On the night between the 23rd and the 24th of August, 2016, Italy is struck by a violent earthquake that destroys several areas between Lazio, Marche and Umbria, killing almost 300 people and leaving more than 15,000 homeless.
Chronicles of the earthquake
In the aftermath of these tragic events, our collective has dedicated itself to documenting the devastating effects of the earthquake, the victims' relief, the response of the institutions and the vicissitudes of the citizens involved, the slow reconstruction and the delivery of the prefabricated houses to the population. After one year the 80% of rubble is still there and just 25% of the temporary houses has been delivered.
The project, assigned by the daily newspaper "La Repubblica", has led us to visit these places for a whole year, allowing us to create a strong bond with this land and with the people who live there. They also produced a webdoc about the work.
The pictures were published montly in the newspaper: HERE the gallery of the publications.
The project was exhibited at MAST in Bologna during the "Repubblica delle Idee" festival.
