Throughout history, humanity has sought to understand and harness the energy embedded in natural phenomena: the fire that warms, the wind that propels, the sea that sustains, and the earth that nourishes. Rooted in the classical theory of the four elements—fire, air, water, and earth—each element symbolizes a unique energy and the interplay that forms the foundation of our universe. This project draws on these classical ideas, exploring the connection between the energy of nature and human labor. By juxtaposing photographs of natural landscapes and details from across Italy with portraits of Terna’s human resources, the work creates a visual dialogue.
